Description

A fluffy and delicious Baked German Pancake that is easy to prepare and perfect for breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • Powdered sugar, for serving
  • Fresh lemon juice or maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place a 9×13-inch baking dish in the oven to heat up while you prepare the batter.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, flour, salt, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
  3. Carefully remove the hot baking dish from the oven and add the butter, swirling it around to coat the bottom. Allow the butter to melt completely.
  4. Pour the batter into the hot baking dish over the melted butter.
  5. Return the dish to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pancake is puffed and golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with fresh lemon juice or maple syrup.

Notes

  • For added flavor, mix in a teaspoon of cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter before baking.
  • Top with fresh fruits like berries or sliced bananas for a delicious twist.
