Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the sliced mushrooms, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for another 5 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture and stir well to combine. Gradually add the beef broth, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream until fully incorporated. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Meanwhile, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  7. Serve the beef stroganoff over the cooked egg noodles and garnish with chopped parsley.

  • For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream.
