Description
Cajun Voodoo Fries are a delicious and spicy twist on traditional fries, seasoned with a blend of Cajun spices and topped with melted cheddar cheese and green onions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large russet potatoes, cut into fries
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup sliced green onions
- ¼ cup sour cream (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, toss the cut fries with vegetable oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, oregano, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fries from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
- Once out of the oven, top with sliced green onions and drizzle with sour cream if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
- For a healthier version, try using sweet potatoes instead of russet potatoes.
- Add cooked bacon bits or jalapeños for extra flavor and a spicy kick.
