Description

A delicious and hearty casserole made with ground beef, hash browns, and plenty of cheese, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups frozen hash browns (thawed)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup green onions, sliced (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, thawed hash browns, cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, black pepper, paprika, thyme, and sour cream. Stir until well combined.
  4. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and pour the mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Let the casserole cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. Garnish with sliced green onions if desired.
