- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix until well combined.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
- Remove the meatballs from the oven and pour the marinara sauce over them. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture.
- Substitute ground turkey for ground chicken for a leaner option, or use a mix of ground meats for added flavor.
