Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup protein powder (chocolate or vanilla)
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, cocoa powder, protein powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, applesauce, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. If using, fold in the dark chocolate chips.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
- Allow the brownie bites to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, cut into small squares or bites and enjoy!
Notes
- For a nut-free version, substitute almond flour with oat flour or a gluten-free all-purpose flour.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon or a tablespoon of nut butter to the batter for an extra flavor boost.
