- 2 ripe bananas, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Chopped nuts or shredded coconut for topping (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Once the butter is melted and bubbling, add the sliced bananas to the skillet in a single layer.
- Cook the bananas for about 2-3 minutes on one side until they start to turn golden brown.
- Carefully flip the bananas over and sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt over them.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, gently stirring to coat the bananas in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.
- If desired, top with chopped nuts or shredded coconut before serving.
Notes
- For a healthier version, substitute the butter with coconut oil.
- You can also add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for a delicious dessert twist.
- If you want to add some crunch, sprinkle some granola over the top before serving.
