Description

Cinnamon Sugar Pan-Fried Bananas are a quick and delicious dessert made by frying ripe bananas in a buttery cinnamon sugar mixture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Chopped nuts or shredded coconut for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Once the butter is melted and bubbling, add the sliced bananas to the skillet in a single layer.
  3. Cook the bananas for about 2-3 minutes on one side until they start to turn golden brown.
  4. Carefully flip the bananas over and sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt over them.
  5. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, gently stirring to coat the bananas in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.
  7. If desired, top with chopped nuts or shredded coconut before serving.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, substitute the butter with coconut oil.
  • You can also add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for a delicious dessert twist.
  • If you want to add some crunch, sprinkle some granola over the top before serving.
