Description
A quick and delicious creamy garlic parmesan chicken pasta recipe that is perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces fettuccine or spaghetti
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the fettuccine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning, mixing until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and add the drained pasta. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated in the sauce.
- Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream and use a reduced-fat Parmesan cheese.
- Add steamed broccoli or spinach for extra vegetables and color in the dish.
