Description

A healthier version of the classic fish and chips, made crispy in an air fryer for a guilt-free delight.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large potatoes, cut into fries
  • 1 lb white fish fillets (such as cod or haddock)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Soak the cut potatoes in water for 30 minutes, then drain and pat dry.
  3. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Coat each fish fillet in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange the fries in a single layer.
  6. Cook the fries for 15-20 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  7. After the fries are done, place the fish fillets in the air fryer and cook for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can double coat the fish fillets.
  • Feel free to add your favorite seasonings to the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Serve with a side of tartar sauce or malt vinegar for an authentic touch.
