Description

Crispy Golden Moroccan Oven-Fried Chicken Tenders served with a Herby Yogurt Dip, offering a flavorful and healthier alternative to traditional fried chicken.

  • 1 pound chicken tenders
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Cooking spray or olive oil for drizzling
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (for dip)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (for dip)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for dip)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro (for dip)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (for dip)
  • Salt and pepper to taste (for dip)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray it with cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs.
  4. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  5. Coat each chicken tender first in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  6. Dip it into the beaten eggs, then coat it with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  7. Place the coated tenders on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Lightly spray the tops of the chicken tenders with cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil for extra crispiness.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through, flipping halfway through.
  10. While the chicken is baking, prepare the herby yogurt dip by mixing together the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, parsley, cilantro, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  11. Once the chicken tenders are done, let them cool for a few minutes before serving with the herby yogurt dip.
