Description

Sausage French Toast Roll-Ups are a delicious breakfast treat that combines the flavors of sausage and French toast in a fun, rolled-up format.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 8 slices white bread, crusts removed
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (for serving)
  • Butter or cooking spray (for greasing the pan)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and crumbled. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin. Place a tablespoon of the cooked sausage at one end of each slice and roll it up tightly.
  3. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little butter or cooking spray to coat the pan.
  5. Dip each rolled-up bread in the egg mixture, ensuring it is fully coated.
  6. Place the rolled bread seam-side down in the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  7. Once cooked, remove from the skillet and roll in granulated sugar to coat.
  8. Serve warm with maple syrup drizzled on top.
