Description

A delicious and hearty skillet dish featuring savory ground beef and tender Brussels sprouts, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the halved Brussels sprouts, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the Brussels sprouts are tender and slightly caramelized.
  5. Pour in the soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, and beef broth. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for an additional 3-4 minutes until the liquid reduces slightly.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a low-carb option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken.
  • Add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for extra color and nutrition.
