Description

Savory Salmon Patties are a delicious and easy-to-make dinner option that combines flaked salmon with breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, and spices, resulting in a flavorful dish that is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (14.75 ounces) pink salmon, drained and flaked
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, chopped onion, chopped bell pepper, egg, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter. You should get about 8 patties.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the salmon patties to the skillet, cooking in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  4. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
  5. Serve warm with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • For added flavor, mix in fresh herbs like dill or parsley into the patty mixture.
  • Substitute the breadcrumbs with crushed crackers or panko for a different texture.
