Savory Turkey Meatballs with Marinara Sauce are delicious bites made from ground turkey, baked to perfection, and served in a rich tomato sauce.

- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped basil
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 jar (24 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- In a spacious bowl, mix together the ground turkey, panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, basil, egg, minced garlic, garlic powder, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until just blended.
- Shape the mixture into small balls, roughly 1.5 inches in size.
- Arrange the turkey bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and lightly brush the olive oil over the tops.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until fully cooked and golden.
- While the meatballs bake, warm the tomato sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
- After baking, gently transfer the turkey bites into the simmering tomato sauce and let them cook together for an additional 5 minutes.
- Serve hot, optionally sprinkling with extra basil or Parmesan.
Notes
- For a lighter version, replace half of the panko with finely grated carrots or mushrooms.
- Add a teaspoon of chili flakes for extra heat.
