Description
Smash Burger Tacos are a delicious twist on traditional tacos, combining the flavors of a classic cheeseburger with the convenience of a taco.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 8 small flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- ½ cup diced onions
- ½ cup pickles
- ½ cup ketchup
- ½ cup mustard
Instructions
- Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Divide the beef into 8 equal portions and shape them into loose balls.
- Place the balls on the hot skillet and press down firmly with a spatula to flatten them into thin patties. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned.
- Flip the patties and immediately sprinkle cheese on top. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked through.
- While the burgers are cooking, warm the flour tortillas in a separate skillet or microwave until soft.
- Assemble the tacos by placing a cheeseburger patty on each tortilla. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your smash burger tacos!
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add jalapeños or hot sauce to the tacos.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, adjusting cooking times as necessary.
