Description
Smashed Cheeseburger Tacos are a delicious fusion of classic cheeseburgers and tacos, combining juicy beef patties with fresh toppings in a soft tortilla.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 small flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1/2 cup diced pickles
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup mustard
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the seasoned beef into small balls, roughly the size of a golf ball.
- Once the skillet is hot, add the beef balls and use a spatula to press them down into flat patties.
- Cook undisturbed for about 3-4 minutes until they develop a nice brown crust.
- Flip the patties and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, then sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Cover the skillet for the last minute to help the cheese melt.
- Warm the flour tortillas in another pan or microwave until pliable.
- Place a cheesy beef patty on each tortilla and top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add jalapeños or hot sauce.
- Use whole wheat tortillas for a healthier option.
- Experiment with different cheeses for varied flavors.
