Description

Smashed Cheeseburger Tacos are a delicious fusion of classic cheeseburgers and tacos, combining juicy beef patties with fresh toppings in a soft tortilla.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1/2 cup diced pickles
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mustard
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Shape the seasoned beef into small balls, roughly the size of a golf ball.
  4. Once the skillet is hot, add the beef balls and use a spatula to press them down into flat patties.
  5. Cook undisturbed for about 3-4 minutes until they develop a nice brown crust.
  6. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, then sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  7. Cover the skillet for the last minute to help the cheese melt.
  8. Warm the flour tortillas in another pan or microwave until pliable.
  9. Place a cheesy beef patty on each tortilla and top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add jalapeños or hot sauce.
  • Use whole wheat tortillas for a healthier option.
  • Experiment with different cheeses for varied flavors.
