Description

A delicious twist on a classic grilled cheese sandwich featuring tender shredded brisket and a blend of cheeses.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of sourdough bread
  • 2 ounces of cooked brisket, shredded
  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices of pepper jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread the butter evenly on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  3. On the unbuttered side of one slice, spread the Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Layer the shredded brisket on top of the mustard, followed by the cheddar and pepper jack cheese.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side facing out.
  7. Carefully place the sandwich in the preheated skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes or until the bread is golden brown.
  8. Flip the sandwich and cook for another 3-4 minutes, pressing down slightly with a spatula, until the cheese is melted and the other side is golden brown.
  9. Remove from the skillet, let cool for a minute, then slice in half and serve.

  • For added flavor, consider adding sautéed onions or jalapeños inside the sandwich.
