Description

Southern Fried Salmon Patties are a crispy and delicious dish made with flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, and a blend of seasonings, perfect for a quick meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (14.75 ounces) pink salmon, drained and flaked
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably seasoned)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter. You should have approximately 8 patties.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the patties in the skillet, cooking in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  4. Fry the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve warm with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the mixture.
  • Substitute the pink salmon with canned tuna or fresh cooked salmon for a different flavor profile.
