  • 1 teaspoon chili powder adjust spices for desired heat
  • 1 teaspoon paprika choose smoked paprika for extra depth
  • 1 teaspoon oregano fresh oregano can enhance freshness
  • 1 teaspoon salt always season to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper freshly cracked pepper will elevate the dish
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes omit or reduce for a milder version
  • 1 can diced green chilies fresh jalapeños can be used for a spicier kick
For the Sauce
  • 1 can red enchilada sauce homemade sauce or green enchilada sauce can be alternatives

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, add the onion, sauté until soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  3. Add ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook for 6-7 minutes until browned.
  4. Sprinkle in cumin, chili powder, paprika, oregano, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes; cook for an additional minute.
  5. Stir in diced green chilies and enchilada sauce, simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and fold in sour cream until fully incorporated.
  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  8. Lay out tortillas, spoon beef mixture onto each, sprinkle with cheeses, and roll tightly.
  9. Place burritos seam-side down in the baking dish, top with remaining beef mixture and cheese.
  10. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes, remove foil and bake for another 5-10 minutes.
  11. Let cool, garnish with cilantro, and serve.
