Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8-inch baking pan.
- Peel and mash 3 to 4 ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Melt unsalted butter and stir it into the mashed bananas. Add brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla; whisk until creamy.
- In a separate bowl, sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Fold this dry mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in your choice of chopped walnuts or pecans, if using.
- Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- Optionally, prepare a glaze with melted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and a splash of milk. Drizzle over cooled brownies.
- Cut into squares and serve, optionally with ice cream or a beverage.

Notes
For best results, use very ripe bananas. Allow brownies to cool completely before cutting to maintain moisture.
