In a slow cooker, combine the chicken breasts, barbecue sauce, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and easily shreds with a fork.
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir to combine with the sauce. Cook for an additional 15-30 minutes on low to let the flavors meld.
Serve on buns, over rice, or with your favorite sides.
