Equipment

  • 9×13-inch baking dish
  • mixing bowl
  • spatula
  • saucepan

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather all your ingredients to streamline the process.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually add the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined to create a thick cookie dough.
  3. Spread the cookie dough evenly into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown.
  4. While the cookie base cools, heat your caramel sauce in a small saucepan over low to medium heat until warm and slightly runny, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Once the cookie layer has cooled for about 10 minutes, drizzle the warmed caramel sauce over the top, then spread a layer of peanut butter evenly over the caramel.
  6. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the peanut butter layer and return the bars to the oven for 2-3 minutes until the chocolate chips begin to melt. Spread the melted chocolate evenly across the bars.
  7. Remove the bars from the oven and allow them to cool completely at room temperature for about 30-40 minutes before cutting into squares.
