Ingredients

For the Crust

For the Toppings
  • 1 lb Ground Beef Substitute with ground turkey, chicken, or black beans for a healthier option.
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning Essential for authentic taco flavor; try homemade seasoning.
  • 1 cup Salsa or Pizza Sauce Using fresh salsa elevates the taste.
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese Feel free to use Monterey Jack or mozzarella for variety.
  • 1 cup Chopped Tomatoes You can swap with diced bell peppers for extra crunch.
  • 1 cup Shredded Lettuce Other greens like spinach can also work well.
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream Substitute Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Green Onions or Cilantro Optional garnishes.

Equipment

  • oven
  • skillet
  • baking sheet

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F to 400°F, depending on the dough you choose.
  2. Roll out your pizza or crescent roll dough onto the prepared sheet pan, pressing it evenly.
  3. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes until the dough is just slightly golden and firm to the touch.
  4. While the crust is baking, heat a skillet over medium heat and add your ground beef. Cook for about 5 to 7 minutes.
  5. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and a splash of water. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Spread a layer of salsa or pizza sauce across the crust. Add the seasoned beef evenly over the sauce.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef. Return to the oven and bake for another 8 to 10 minutes.
  8. After baking, let the pizza cool for a couple of minutes. Top with chopped tomatoes and shredded lettuce.
  9. Drizzle sour cream over the top and add chopped green onions or cilantro as desired.
  10. Slice into squares and serve warm.
