Step-by-Step Instructions for Flying Dutchman Burger
  1. Slice yellow onions into thick rounds and heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Add olive oil and toss in the onion slices, along with Worcestershire sauce, Creole seasoning, and brown sugar. Cook the onions for about 20 minutes until golden brown and soft.
  2. While the onions caramelize, mix ground beef with Creole seasoning and form into thin patties. Chill patties for 10 minutes.
  3. Raise skillet heat to medium-high and add patties, searing for 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
  4. Place a slice of cheese on each patty just before removing from the skillet, allowing it to melt for 1-2 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, whisk mayonnaise, relish, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and spices until smooth.
