  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)
  • Lime wedges for serving

Method
 

  1. Start by patting the flank steak dry with paper towels. This helps to achieve a nice sear.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Rub this spice mixture evenly over both sides of the steak.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add 2 tablespoons of the butter.
  4. When the butter is melted and bubbling, carefully place the steak in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
  5. In the last minute of cooking, add the minced garlic and the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Spoon the melted garlic butter over the steak as it finishes cooking.
  6. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute.
  7. Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips. Serve with a sprinkle of fresh parsley and lime wedges on the side.
