  • 2 tablespoons Sugar or maple syrup/coconut sugar for flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder essential for texture

  • 1 cup Milk or dairy-free alternative
  • 1 large Egg or flax egg for vegan option
For the Fritters
  • 2 cups Apples diced, firm varieties like Granny Smith
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon highly recommended

Method
 

Fritter Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free flour blend, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Whisk together until evenly mixed.
  2. In a separate bowl, crack an egg and whisk it together with the milk until fully combined and frothy.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil, frying for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Remove fritters with a slotted spoon and place them on a wire rack to drain excess oil.
  7. Optionally, whisk together powdered sugar and a splash of milk to make a glaze and drizzle it over the fritters after cooling.
