Steps
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out puff pastry to 1/8 inch thick and cut circles.
- Brush pastry edges with egg wash, place on parchment-lined baking sheet, and freeze for 15 minutes.
- Add caramelized onions to the center of each pastry circle.
- Blind bake the pastry for 10 minutes until edges start to rise.
- Pipe fig jam over onions and crumble goat cheese on top.
- Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh herbs.
- Serve warm or at room temperature on a platter.
