Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips optional
  • ½ cup cream cheese frosting for topping, optional

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the butter mixture, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Stir in the red food coloring until the batter is evenly colored. If using, fold in the white chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. If desired, top with cream cheese frosting once cooled.
