Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch to create a marinade. Add the beef steak, ensuring it's well coated. Cover and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- While marinating, prepare your vegetables by slicing the bell peppers and onion, and mincing garlic and grating ginger.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add the marinated beef and sear undisturbed for 1-2 minutes. Flip and sear for another 1-2 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil. Add sliced bell peppers and onion, sauté for 3-4 minutes until tender. Add garlic and ginger, and stir for an additional minute.
- Return beef to the skillet, pour in beef broth or water, stir to combine, and cook for 2-3 more minutes until the sauce thickens. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Serve the mixture over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes
Slice beef against the grain for tenderness. Marinate for longer for more flavor. You can substitute bell peppers with other vegetables like snow peas or zucchini.
