Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20 blend
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup diced onions
  • ½ cup pickles
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup mustard

Method

  1. Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Divide the beef into 8 equal portions and shape them into loose balls.
  4. Place the balls on the hot skillet and press down firmly with a spatula to flatten them into thin patties. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned.
  5. Flip the patties and immediately sprinkle cheese on top. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked through.
  6. While the burgers are cooking, warm the flour tortillas in a separate skillet or microwave until soft.
  7. Assemble the tacos by placing a cheeseburger patty on each tortilla. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your smash burger tacos!
